The Frances Perkins earrings are 18K gold-plated stainless steel Cuban chain style earrings with a black rectangle zircon rhinestone. They come with stainless steel backs to keep them in place.

Frances Perkins was a courageous advocate for women's rights and workers' rights, actively participating in the suffrage movement.
In 1911, she witnessed the devastating Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, a pivotal moment in her life. She observed as around 150 workers, mostly women, were unable to escape the burning building due to the lack of fire escapes.
Following this incident, Theodore Roosevelt recommended her to serve as the executive secretary for the Committee on Safety of the City of New York.
Perkins continued to champion workers' rights and eventually became the United States Secretary of Labor. She made history as the first woman to serve in a presidential cabinet under President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
